SCImago Journal Ranking (SJR) has released its ranking of scientific journals for 2024. In the latest ranking, the Journal of African Languages and Literary Studies (JoALLS), which we started in 2020, and was indexed by SCOPUS in 2024, was ranked Q1, the highest quartile ranking a journal can get. SJR ranking is a measure of the prestige of scholarly journals which takes into account both the number of citations received by a journal and the prestige of the journals where those citations come from.
