Africa’s problems are not new; they have been with us for a long time, even if they take new forms. This volume of the African Renaissance foregrounds conversations about indigenous knowledge systems and transformations across various socioeconomic aspects of Africa’s ongoing challenges. It examines how these systems are used to navigate the complexities of the contemporary world. The fourteen articles address various aspects of African realities and challenges for which there is no single panacea, thus creating a need to approach them from different disciplinary angles, including gender, economy, public policy, land reforms, etc. Africa should certainly consider its roots when using modern tools and processes, such as e-governance and decolonial language modeling. The authors’ interdisciplinary approaches ensure fresh perspectives on old problems, as seen in the works of Sinekaya and Mbukanma, who considered brand image as a contemporary African economic expression.
