Welcome to the sixth edition of the African Journal of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Hospitality. This edition presents 11 diverse collections of issues addressing critical aspects related to the Sustainable Development Goals 1 – 3 and 15. One segment of this collection addresses dietary aspects of locally produced and commonly consumed foods while exploring food security and the dietary diversity score (DDS). Certain concepts that are thought to strongly influence dietary consumption and/or DDS among consumers, such as socioeconomic developments and consumer behaviour, are discussed in this edition. The other part of this issue focuses on governance, particularly structural barriers, land reform, and geopolitics influencing contemporary Africa. As agricultural inclusivity remains a challenge, especially in some parts of Africa, authors propose developments and recommendations on how some of the gaps can be bridged, while developments on African food innovation, production, and pricing strategies are also extensively addressed. The final segment of the collection shifts focus to the downstream consumer end of the supply chain, analyzing retail economics, fast-food environments, and informal tourism. Together, contributions in this edition feature that resolving Africa's food and agricultural challenges requires a holistic approach to offer innovative, localized and sustainable solutions.
