The editorial board is pleased to announce the debut of the The African Journal of eCommerce, Logistics and Transportation Studies (AJELTS). The AJELTS journal was ideated in January 2024 to showcase African best practices in the areas of eCommerce, Logistics and Transportation Studies. This issue of the AJELTS is the maiden volume and issue of the journal following its establishment, and I am elated to serve as its editor-in-chief with the firm belief that the journal will feed into Africa’s development that has been perennially faced with mobility challenges. AJELTS is inimitable as it focuses on knowledge anchored on eCommerce, Logistics and Transportation Studies in Africa and by extension captures how governments and organizations in the public-private and social sectors in Africa conceptualize digitization of operations in serving stakeholders in the subfields of logistics and transportation. This volume contains a mix of insights that delves deep into understanding the constraints and opportunities in the mobility of goods, information and people - captured from academic and practical lenses. The AJELTS journal is important because mobility of goods, information and persons is becoming the anchor of development.
