Journal of Gender, Information and Development in Africa (JGIDA) attempts with every Issue to point the way forward in the development quest of the Africa continent. This it does by triggering debates and posing important questions on the several issues plaguing Africa and its peoples. Gender, information and development without doubt are some of the most fundamental issues which demand attention and very important at the intellectual cum academic levels. With their resolution, the continent can gear towards development and close the advancement gap between her and other regions of the world.
This Special Issue of the journal is one of such interventions. With contributions from seasoned academics and policy experts, topics that touch on the central themes of the journal are addressed. Issues such as ecology, climate and environment, learning, gender, culture, migration, unemployment, indigenous knowledge system among others are discussed from multidisciplinary perspective.
In terms of the quality assurance of the publication of this Issue, each submission has been subjected to rigorous selection process, which of course includes professionally handled peer-review mechanism. In view of this, our gratitude goes to the reviewers for painstakingly going through each submission to ensure that the very best submissions are selected for publication. Without them article selection process would have been messy with possibility of error of judgement. We also appreciate the contributors who responded to issues raised by the reviewers. We recognise everybody that contributed in one way or the other to the publication of this Issue.
We believe with the collection of articles in this publication, debates and discourse on African development would be richer with good and workable policy recommendations.
