Journal of Gender, Information and Development in Africa commits to the finding solutions to the many social ills of Africa and the world by extension. Thecommitment to practical solutions through well-researched and analytically robust articles have been sustained by the journal by the consistency of its issues. Issues surrounding gender, information and development are arguably Africa’s most prominent problems and the aim of this journal is to address them as cogently as possible through multidisciplinary research interventions that it provides for scholars from diverse academic, policy, advocacy and related backgrounds.
This present issue of the journal looks at broad range of issues. These include issues like work place deviance, personality trait, maritime, education, gender, curriculum studies, security and policing, research and development, religion, technology, governance, foreign policy, parenting, media, culture and other themes of importance to African and global development. Articles in the volume have been carefully selected, reviewed and corrected in the tradition of sound and meticulous production of JGIDA and it is our believe that they would contribute immensely to literature and offer practical insights to development.
The process of coming up with this issue of JGIDA is a long one involving many people who individual and collective actions have helped tremendously. I wish to thank the contributors who have malleably attended to all issues and points raised by reviewers and for the timely fashion in which they did this. The reviewers who painstakingly read through each article, noted gaps and issues and assessed their suitability for this journal deserve a mention in praise. This also extends to everyone that has contributed in one way or the other to the production of the issue. We believe that this issue is an extension of knowledge on Gender, Information and Development and would serve humanity positively.
